Business Continuity

Keeping your business running.

Data, in all its forms, is the key to a successful business. Data helps establish your business strategy, ensures appropriate billing, keeps records and is useful for a myriad of other essential tasks. Without adequate protection of their data, a business can fail, making that protection nothing less than a strategic priority. This applies to businesses of all sizes, but especially to small and medium-sized enterprises.
Disruption to Business can occur through –

  • Fire or flood damage to IT equipment (Classified as a disaster, move equipment to a higher floor or a new location if possible)
  • Theft of data, PCs or laptops (Can be classified as a disaster)
  • System crashes
  • Staff unable to work due to server issues
  • Email not working
  • Virus attacks
  • No access to files

Business Continuity and Disaster Management are fundamentally about ensuring systems continue to run or that your data can be recovered and redeployed onto a working platform as quickly as possible. Common sense dictates that a business tailor’s the type of strategy required to meet business risks and budget. This page concentrates on data recovery.

Managed Cloud Backup

What is Managed Cloud Backup?

This is also one of our Managed Services products.

Our Managed Cloud Backup Service copies your most valuable data to our Australian Data Centre, with an option for duplicating that to an on-site External Storage Device or another Computer on your network for quick recovery.

How is this better than other Cloud Backup products?

An advantage of the tight coupling our other Managed Services, the status of each Managed Backup shows in our Remote Monitoring Dashboard. There’s no need to go around to each workstation and check that they’ve all backed up correctly.

How much does it cost?

Initial seeding of the data on our servers is available free of charge. Cost is calculated on a monthly, per-used gigabyte basis and can be cancelled at the end of any month. As per our other Managed Services, there is no lock-in contract and it can be terminated at any time.

Conventional Data Backup

What is conventional data backup?

A Conventional Data Backup is backing data up to a local storage location. This is most useful in the event of device failure and can be of some use in the event of theft, provided the backup devices themselves are not stolen.
Using our considerable experience providing On-Site backups to Small and Medium businesses, we help you choose:

  • The size and quality of backup device most suited to your needs
  • The number of backup devices to be rotated (grandfather father son)
  • The appropriate backup software, from utilising the Backup tools included in Windows to Dedicated Backup suites which monitor backups and send email alerts in the event of failure

Hot Backup Server

What is a Hot Backup Server?

A Hot Backup Server is a completely separate server installed on-site alongside your live production server. The information on it is copied from your live server several times a day, according to the load of the live server. If the Live Server fails completely, the Hot Backup takes over, restoring functionality quickly and with minimal loss.

How much is a Hot Backup Server?

Cost depends on the specifications of the live server. Due to this, it is most suited to only the most critical of business applications.

Off-Site Backup Server

What is an Off-Site Backup Server?

An Off-Site Backup Server is a completely separate server, installed off-site in one of our datacentres. The information on it is copied from your live server several times a day, according to the load of the live server.
If the Live Server fails, is stolen or destroyed, the Off-Site backup takes over, restoring functionality quickly and with minimal loss.

How much is an Off-Site Backup Server?

Cost of the Server depends on the specifications of the live server. There is an additional ongoing datacentre lease fee, which is dependent on where the sever is located, in addition to bandwidth usage charges.

Inter-Branch Backup

What is Inter-Branch Backup?

If you have multiple branches in your business, we can create a setup where data backed up at one site is automatically copied to another specified site. This is intended to use any existing inter-branch VPN infrastructure and creates a true off-site backup (Your very own private Cloud) without the fees associated with Datacentre use. The data doesn’t leave your business premises and is easily monitored.

How much does it cost?

The only cost associated with this service is setup and any monitoring you wish to add. Call us on (07) 3202 5722 or email us using our contact us form for a requirements analysis.
